The Foundations of Mediation Training is a 40-hour, in-person course designed to help participants build the skills to mediate conflict, support productive dialogue, and foster resolution. Through interactive roleplays, group discussions, and guided practice, participants gain a strong understanding of facilitative mediation — from managing emotions and communication to helping parties find common ground. Those who complete the training receive a CDRC Certificate of Completion and are eligible to continue toward qualification to mediate for the CDRC through mentored practice. Full qualification to mediate independently requires completing four observations, four co-mediations, and four lead mediations. Whether you’re interested in becoming a mediator or want to enhance your ability to communicate and resolve conflict, this training offers practical skills you can use in any professional or community setting.
